How to Join | SABBC | Launching Facility CornwallHow To JoinSt. Austell Bay Boat Club (SABBC) is a friendly, members-only club based at Par Harbour on the south coast of Cornwall, offering private access to our slipway and harbour facilities for launching and retrieving powered craft and other small vessels. Whether you are new to boating in the area or an experienced mariner looking for a well-managed local facility, we would love to welcome you as a member. To become a member of SABBC you need to attend a membership meeting where you can pick-up and complete an Indemnity and Membership application form.
You will need to bring a passport sized photo and either cheque, cash or bank transfer for the full amount. ( Once you have submitted your application form you will need to undertake a Health & Safety Induction around the docks which will take around one hour. This induction is an important part of the joining process and covers safe use of the slipway, tidal awareness, emergency procedures, and the general rules and expectations for using the harbour. When this is complete you will be issued with your launching pass and car/boat stickers etc. New members can apply and applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis after the 30th November deadline. This gives the existing members a chance to renew their membership first. We would encourage anyone interested in joining to get their application in promptly, as places are limited and demand for membership can be high.
Membership forms for Annual Renewals will be available at membership meetings and can be downloaded from the website from September onwards ( SABBC membership runs on an annual basis and gives you access to our facilities at Par Harbour throughout the season. As a member you will also have the opportunity to get involved in the wider life of the club, attend the Annual General Meeting, and have a say in how the club is run. We are proud to be a volunteer-led organisation and always welcome members who want to contribute. Par Harbour sits within St Austell Bay and benefits from good shelter in a range of conditions, with access to open water and some of the finest coastal cruising grounds in the South West. Our members enjoy everything from day fishing and water sports to longer passages along the Cornish coast and beyond.
