We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us when you fill any online forms on the Website. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of some of the Website's features.

St Austell Bay Boat Club is the organisation responsible for the information described on this page. If you have an account we hold your name, email address and login details, your site preferences, a record of when you sign in, and a record of the emails the Website sends you. If you turn on two-factor authentication we also hold the details needed to check your second step. If you subscribe to the weekly digest or other emails we keep your address so we can send them, and every email has a way to unsubscribe.

When you visit the Website, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends. This data may include information such as your device's IP address, browser type and version, operating system type and version, language preferences, or the webpage you were visiting before you came to our Website.

We keep your IP address, precise location and browser details with these visit records for 18 months. After that they are anonymised: the IP address, precise location and browser identification are removed, leaving only general information such as the page viewed, the date, the type of device and the town or country. We also keep daily totals (for example, how many pages were viewed on a given day), which contain no personal information. We use these records to understand how the Website is used, to keep it secure and to tell when something is broken.

The Website only asks your browser for your precise location if you allow it, and only uses it to show your position on maps and to improve the location recorded with your visit. You can turn it off at any time in your account preferences, in the cookie settings or in your browser. If you turn on web push or desktop notifications, your browser gives us an address we use to send them. We store it until you turn notifications off or your browser tells us it is no longer valid.

We do not sell your information. Some features of the Website load content from other organisations, who receive your IP address and browser details when your browser contacts them: Google (reCAPTCHA spam protection), CamSecure (webcam), the Environment Agency (tide and water data), the map tile providers OpenStreetMap, Esri and CARTO. If you accept Analytics cookies, visit statistics are processed by our own Matomo service and by Google Analytics, if either is switched on. Visit records are kept in full for 18 months and then anonymised, as described above. Visit records are not linked to your account. Account information is kept for as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, either by you from the My Details page or by us when you ask or we close it, your account details, sign-in and security settings, and email subscription are deleted automatically, and your name and email address are replaced with "DELETED USER" in our email logs. Cookies last for the periods listed in the Cookie Policy.

Any of the information we collect from you may be used to personalize your experience; improve our Website; improve customer service and respond to queries. We may process Personal Information if: (i) You have given your consent; (ii) It is necessary for the performance of an agreement; (iii) It is required for compliance with a legal obligation.

You may exercise certain rights regarding your information: (i) withdraw consent; (ii) object to processing; (iii) access your data; (iv) verify and seek rectification; (v) restrict processing; (vi) seek erasure; (vii) receive your data in a machine-readable format.
