Pinned New!  Boat Washing at Par Harbour

St Austell Bay Boat Club

In order to comply with South West Water’s Hose Pipe Ban we have removed the hose outside the Pilots Office until the ban has been lifted. Boats must now be washed at home.

We thank you for your understanding.

New!  Club Launching & Retrieving Risk Assessment

Hello All,

At Tuesday night's General Meeting (13.10.26), we discussed the requirement to compile a Risk Assessment for launching and retrieving boats at the slipway. This has been compiled and approved by the Club Committee and Imerys.

It was agreed to issue a copy of the RA with each full member renewal package, including it in future Safety Inductions as well as posting online.

Please have a look at the Risk Assessment attached and ensure that the control measures listed are observed and actioned.

I hope that you will all agree that this is a positive action and goes some way towards ensuring the future use of the slipway at Par.

Many thanks,

Rob (SABBC Secretary)

New!  Welcome to the New Look SABBC Website

Welcome to the new look St Austell Bay Boat Club website. We have given the whole site a fresh design to make it cleaner, easier to read and simpler to use, whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer.

What has changed

  • A cleaner layout: Information is now grouped into clear, easy-to-scan cards, so you can find what you need at a glance.

  • Consistent colours and styling: Buttons, menus, forms and pop-ups now share one look throughout the site, making everything feel familiar wherever you are.

  • Better on mobile: Pages adapt to the size of your screen, so the site is comfortable to use on the quayside as well as at home.

  • Easier forms: Date and time pickers, document viewing and the editing tools have all been restyled to match.

  • Clearer maps and charts: The tide, wave and water quality pages use the same tidy style, with readable charts and maps.

The way you use the site has not changed, only how it looks and feels. We are still fine-tuning things, so if you spot a problem or have a suggestion, please let the Site Admin know.

New!  Introducing Our New Marine & Environmental Tools: Live Water Quality and Tidal Stream Maps

We are pleased to announce the launch of two new interactive tools on the website, designed to help members plan their time on the water with better accuracy and safety. Both pages feature clear, easy-to-read charts and visual maps so you can get the full picture at a glance.

1. Live Water Quality Monitoring This new tool aggregates environmental data from official monitoring sources to provide up-to-date information on local water conditions. Using interactive maps and breakdown charts, members can view:

  • Safety Status & Advisories: Real-time updates and clear chart indicators on local water suitability for boating and water activities.

  • Environmental Data: Historical charts and recent testing metrics for our immediate coastal area.
